Congratulations to PhD candidate Jessica Wyllie for winning the Australian Society for Microbiology State Branch Award.

South Australian up-and-coming microbiologists presented their work to win registration and travel funding for the next ASM conference in July. Jessica is a PhD student in Tatiana Soares da Costa’s research group and is working on “Identifying Novel Therapeutics to Tackle Antibiotic Resistance”. 

She recently co-authored a paper on “Shapeshifting bullvalene-linked vancomycin dimers as effective antibiotics against multidrug-restistant gram-positive bacteria“, , you can read the press release on the article here
