The inaugural Mekong AgriTech Challenge (MATCh) is scouting for agriculture and food tech startups that have applicability in the Mekong region (Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar). The initiative is being funded through AusAid and the Asia Development Bank.

Launched on 15 November 2017, this is an opportunity for Australian & NZ startups to gain market access and drive social impact in the Mekong region. Startups and agritech solution providers from around the world can join forces to transform the Mekong region’s agricultural industry into a leading global supplier of “safe and nutritious food for all”.

They’re looking for startups/established businesses that have:

  • Proven technologies/solutions with positive social impact on the environment and production of safe and nutritious foods;
  • Desire to expand business into Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, or Vietnam
  • Technological relevance (applicability and value added to the local markets, novelty and proprietary of the technology).

The MATCh: The Mekong Agriculture Technology Challenge Accelerator is organised by the Mekong Business Initiative (MBI) with funding and support from the Australian Government and the Asian Development Bank.
