An online Showcase for the ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Wheat in a Hot and Dry Climate is now live. This is in place of the Wheat Hub’s Showcase event at the National Wine Centre which was unfortunately cancelled earlier this year due to Covid-19.
The Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Wheat in a Hot and Dry Climate was made possible through $4.5 million of funding from the Australian Research Council’s Industrial Transformation Research Program and a further $6.7 million of cash and in-kind support from the project partners.
Over the last five years, the Hub has tackled the challenges of increasing productivity and securing high grain quality of wheat in the hot and dry climate of Australia through innovative, multi-disciplinary research. Outcomes from research within the Hub included novel germplasm, information about traits and genetic loci, bioinformatics platforms and phenomics technologies that were transferred to industry partners and will facilitate the development of new wheat varieties. The Hub also provided research and industry engagement training to five PhD students.
Please visit https://wheathub.com.au/showcase/ for the Showcase website, which can be viewed at your own convenience. The Showcase is best viewed on a large screen. From the Showcase you will also be able to access the main Wheat Hub website to find out more about us and our research.
