Formally known as the Beacon Conference of Undergraduate Research (BeaCUR), The University of Adelaide hosted its fourth annual Undergraduate Research Conference on Friday 27 July 2018. The conference offers an opportunity for students and recent graduates to showcase research completed as part of their undergraduate coursework, a summer or other research internship, a research-based degree program, or voluntary work.
The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine had three groups of second year students that attended the conference to present posters of their Small Group Discovery Experiences in the courses Foundations in Plant Science or Microbiology and Invertebrate Biology (see photos).
The group of Jacob Long, Jack Kelly, Ashleigh Pulford, Ben Williams and Will Gangell were awarded the best poster presentation for their work on the effect of canopy management on grape and wine quality. The students were awarded the prize by Professor Phil Levy (PVC Student Learning) (see photo).
Well done to all students especially as they were mostly competing against Honours students.
