The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine provides a world-class concentration of scientific research, education and infrastructure at the Waite campus of the University of Adelaide. Our agriculture, food and wine programs are at the forefront of industry innovation – from adapting to climate change and improving farming decision making to repurposing food waste and functional food development, through to sustainable vineyard management and improvements in fermentation.

We are seeking dedicated and passionate casual staff to assist with the delivery of our Semester 2 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, commencing Monday 22 July 2024. Apply here: 

Application process:

  • Please view the available courses through the application form to determine what area of work offerings are being made for individual courses.
  • Ensure you meet the essential criteria:
    • As a minimum, the applicant will have completed a Bachelors degree in a relevant field or be enrolled in their final year of a 4-year honours program in a relevant field
    • Good technical knowledge of the key teaching components of the course/s you are applying for
    • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical information to students
    • Available and flexible to meet the minimum hourly/sessional requirements for the course/s
    • Able to work collegially to support excellent teaching within the school
    • Are an Australian citizen or possess eligible Australian working visa*

*Please note:  Prospective employees are required to provide evidence of their Australian citizenship or working rights.

  • Consider the desired criteria:
    • Conferral of a postgraduate degree in a relevant field
    • Teaching qualifications or formal training
    • Previous experience with casual work within the school
    • Demonstrated ability to educate or mentor students
    • Evidence of good student feedback in student evaluations
    • Evidence of good feedback from course coordinators
