As part of the Office for Women’s Investing in Women’s Futures economic empowerment blueprint we are asking women studying and working in Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to participate in the #STEMSelfie social media campaign.
STEM selfies highlight women working in STEM and challenges stereotypes of what a scientist, engineer or other STEM professional looks like. Women working in STEM are encouraged to post a photo of themselves on social media using the hashtags #STEMSelfie and #WomeninSTEM
A celebratory event showing the STEM selfies will be held on 11 February 2016 – the UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
A STEMSelfie how to guide is available on the OFW website at www.officeforwomen.sa.gov.au/STEM. Please feel free to forward this on to women who you think may be interested in participating in the campaign.
