The Food and Nutrition Research Group part of the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine is seeking participants for a breastfeeding study.

We are looking for mothers with babies aged between 4 weeks and 4 months of age who are currently breastfeeding and have not introduced solids to take part in a study looking at the changes in the levels of nutrients and hormones that take place during a breastfeed. This study will help us understand more about the role that these factors play in regulating your babies feeding behaviour.

The study will involve attending three appointments in the comfort of your own home.  You will be asked some general background and dietary information about yourself and we will weigh and measure your baby. At each session, you will be asked to fully express milk from one breast, and we will collect a number of samples of milk across this time.

Feel free to share this information with others who may be interested in participating.

This study has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee at the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (Approval No. HREC/18/WCHN/79).

If you would like any additional information or would like to participate, please contact Dr Katie Wood (katie.wood@adelaide.edu.au) or 0414 625 989.
