ASVO Awards 2025: Kerry Wilkinson honoured with Wine Science & Technology Award

The Australian Society of Viticulture & Oenology (ASVO) has announced Professor Kerry Wilkinson as the recipient of the 2025 Wine Science and Technology Award, proudly sponsored by WineChek.

Kerry is an ARC Industry Fellow and Professor of Oenology at the University of Adelaide, where she has spent the past 18 years contributing to education, mentoring, and innovative research in wine science. Her work spans aroma chemistry, smoke taint, flavour development, and the application of new technologies to support a resilient and future-focused wine sector.

Reflecting on the recognition, Kerry said:
“I’m honoured to receive this award, and privileged to work with an amazing team of research staff, students, and collaborators. It’s really special to have our research acknowledged. I love my job and enjoy the challenge of applying science and technology to solve new and old industry problems.”

Kerry’s award highlights her longstanding commitment to advancing the scientific foundations of Australian wine and her impact across both academic and industry communities.
