The Australian Plant Phenomics Network (APPN) was established in 2009 under the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) to develop a globally collaborative plant phenomics capability that provides leadership in infrastructure, skills and service for agricultural research and industry to maximise the productivity in Australia’s unique and variable environment.
The University of Adelaide node of the APPN, The Plant Accelerator® is actively seeking a driven and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team and contribute their unique skills. As part of this role, the successful candidate will collaborate with our experienced team members in analysing data collected with cutting-edge field phenotyping tools (aerial and ground-based platforms). The successful candidate will contribute their unique skills in analysing complex data from RGB, hyperspectral or LiDAR sensors to extract information about plant structure, biochemical and physiological properties. By harnessing the latest data analytical approaches, the appointed individual will play a pivotal role in advancing our ability to measure novel traits in the field, supporting agricultural research and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in remote sensing, plant phenotyping, and computer vision, with a strong emphasis on multi-modal image processing.
