The School of Agriculture, Food & Wine is one of several Schools in the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and represents a world-class concentration of scientific research, education, and product conferring capability, with infrastructure and resources at the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide. The successful candidates will enjoy the opportunity to liaise closely with research and industry experts co-located on campus.

The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine is seeking to appoint up to two PhD graduates with demonstrated experience in plant breeding. The successful applicant/s will develop plant breeding and pre-breeding research and development programs specifically in the areas of amaranth and hops. In time, outputs from these programs will lead to the commercial release of new varieties that are, in the first instance, primarily adapted to the southern regions of Australia. The roles represent an exciting opportunity in emerging crops, targeted for their commercial and climatic potential in South Australia.

Initially, this role will be for 3 years subject to satisfactory performance and meeting key performance indicators. Flexible working arrangements will be considered for the successful candidate.
