WI4896 is a new barley variety bred by the University of Adelaide that has just been named Leabrook (PBR 2017/197), with yield and agronomic data now available from the National Variety Trials website (https://app.nvtonline.com.au/).
Growers and other industry stakeholders are encouraged to compare the yield and agronomic attributes of Leabrook (WI4896) against other currently grown commercial varieties across the NVT network.
Leabrook (WI4896) is being evaluated for malting and brewing, having passed stage 1 malt accreditation in March 2019 and now in stage 2.
