From Julie Strawinski’s instagram page:

Wooden spoons conjure many meanings.
These Vintage wooden spoons hold many tales.
Some are burnt and scratched telling their own Stories.
I wonder who used them?
What did they cook?
How long did they have this wooden Spoon.
Was it their favourite?
How did I end up with it?

I come from an era when to get the Wooden spoon meant something completely different!!!
Not quite PC today.

Wooden Spoons also were used as consolation Prizes at Fairs.

I have an Antique carved Welsh lovespoon traditionally presented as a gift of romantic intent which was carved by their suitor.

A simple inanimate object that musters so many memories and emotions.
