Congratulations Matt!

The Waite Research Institute is delighted to announce the official appointment of Professor Matthew Tucker to the role of Director, Waite Research Institute, Adelaide University.

Matthew has provided outstanding leadership as Interim Director since 2024 and has played a key role in shaping Adelaide University’s Signature Research Theme in Food, Agriculture and Wine. A leading plant biologist with expertise in reproduction, shoot growth and seed development, Matthew brings deep scientific insight and a strong track record of collaboration.

As Director, Matthew will guide WRI’s strategic direction and strengthen our work to deliver innovative, sustainable and impactful research for Australia’s agriculture, food and wine sectors.

We look forward to the next phase of WRI’s growth under Matthew’s leadership.
