Congratulations to School of Agriculture, Food and Wine students Alice Alexander and Grace Moloney who have been awarded 2023 Horizon Scholarships.

The AgriFutures Horizon Scholarship is awarded to students studying an agriculture-related undergraduate degree or a Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths/Finance (STEM) degree with relevant majors which align to agriculture.

Alice Alexander

Alice is a second year Bachelor of Agricultural Science student, passionate about combining research and science with agriculture to make Australia a global leader in high quality produce while remaining sustainable and profitable.

“I have a growing interest in plant genetics and its impact on yields and plant strength. When I finish my degree, I would like to work in plant research as I love the combination of field trials and lab work and working with a broad range of people.”

Alice’s scholarship is sponsored by AgriFutures Export Fodder Program.

Grace Moloney

Grace is a Bachelor of Agricultural Science student with a strong interest in agronomy and ag communications.

“[The Horizon Scholarship] will hopefully enable me to travel interstate and undertake work placement, while building many new connections and networks with other like-minded students from around Australia”.

Grace’s scholarship is sponsored by Grains Research and Development Corportation (GRDC).
