Excellence in horticulture honoured at Hort Connections 2026 in Adelaide

 A big congratulations to SARDI’s Michael Rettke, named Researcher/Advisor of the Year at the AUSVEG SA Premier’s Horticultural Awards for Excellence last Friday night.

Michael is well respected within industry as a key horticultural researcher. Over the past 30 years, his work has helped manage pests and soilborne disease risks across SA and turn research into practical on-farm management advice.

This achievement recognises his valuable contributions to the management of Fusarium Basal Rot (a threat to onions) and the diagnosis of Beet Cyst Nematode (impacting field vegetables).
