Cultivating Connections – World Soil Day Celebration and Networking
Join us for a networking event designed to connect soil researchers with agricultural extension staff and field officers in celebration of World Soil Day. The event will provide a valuable opportunity to build connections, share knowledge, and explore how research can support practical solutions for South Australian farmers.
If you have an interest in soil, and you work:
- in soil research at a university, or organisation such as SARDI or CSIRO
- for a farming systems group
- at a state government agency (such as Landscape Board, PIRSA or DEW)
- in an agricultural consultancy or advisory role
Cultivating Connections Networking event is for you!
Through facilitated sessions, participants will be encouraged to share their interests, ask questions, and spark conversations that strengthen links between research and on-ground practice. This is an opportunity for extension officers to talk with researchers about the research needs they see in their local areas. There will be plenty of time to network, with lunch and afternoon nibbles provided.
Whether you’re an extension officer seeking local soil expertise, or a researcher looking to share your findings with those working directly with producers, this event offers the chance to broaden your networks and foster collaboration.
This initiative is a collaboration between the South Australian (SA) Regional Soil Coordinator, Soil Science Australia SA Branch, The Sustainable Agriculture Network hosted by the Department of Environment and Water (DEW), the Soil Collaboration Centre program of the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA), and the SA Drought Resilience, Adoption and Innovation Hub.
