On 24 April, we welcomed a group of 23 Chinese alumni of the University of Adelaide and their family members to the Waite campus. They were attendees of the inaugural Chinese Alumni Back to Campus tour organised by the University’s Alumni Relations team. These alumni and family are originally from China mainland and Hong Kong, and are currently living in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
We were delighted to take them through our own winery and the Plant Accelerator, to showcase the state-of-art facilities here at the Waite campus. Ms Jill Bauer, Dr Bettina Berger, and Dr Trevor Garnett led the tours, and two current Chinese students Mr Wenyu Kang and Ms Chana Borjigin came along and interpreted for the group.
The Back to Campus tour provided an opportunity for the University’s alumni to visit all campuses, Coopers Brewery and Yalumba Winery, as well as take a professional development course offered by Professional and Continuing Education at the University.
