The Rainbow Room is something that has provided a safe space and a mean for the LGBTQIA+ community to connect on the North Terrace campus. There is a growing sense that on the Waite campus, the lack of any such safe space and of visibility of the queer community probably means that our students, and staff, are more closeted, less connected and less safe to explore and express their identity. Opening a Rainbow Room on the Waite would be a key initiative to start changing that.
