SA Crawford Fund International Engagement Awards

The SA Committee of the Crawford Fund for Food Security (CFFS) offers a small number of competitive grants for researchers/extension professionals in primary industries to undertake training, mentoring and extension activities with partners in developing countries. The purpose of the awards is to support activities which promote regional food security.

Individual awards are for up to a maximum of $18,000. Proposals from early career researchers or proposals establishing new collaborative contacts are welcome.

There are two application rounds per year:

Round 1- Closes November 6, 2026

Round 2- Closes March 5, 2027

The SA Committee of CFFS will use the following criteria to select successful projects:

Impact:

• What is the impact in country-for individuals, for organisations?

Feasability

• Does the project appear well planned and organised especially in relation to contacts and facilities where the project will take place?

Value for money

• Preference is given to proposals which demonstrate value for money and co-investment (cash and in-kind from applicant agencies). The CFFS does not fund salaries for mentors/trainers or organisational overheads.

Communication

• Can the learnings from the project be made available to South Australia’s agrifood sector?
