The second edition of the Australian Learning and Teaching Academic Standards Statement for Agriculture  was released this week, a project led by Professor Amanda Able.

The purpose of the project was to update and  redefine the minimum threshold learning outcomes (TLOs) for graduates of agriculture-related bachelor’s degrees in Australia. The statement is a national reference point that helps ensure consistency, quality, and relevance in agriculture education across Australian universities.

Agriculture is increasingly complex and interdisciplinary (involving climate science, economics, technology), so graduates need a strong, versatile foundation. The framework helps educators design programs that prepare students not just for jobs, but for leadership and innovation in the sector.
