SARDI continues to provide opportunities for researchers to broaden their expertise, build new knowledge and foster meaningful local, national and international collaborations.
This September, Professor David Schmale will undertake a prestigious placement with SARDI as part of his Fulbright Australia Scholarship Experience, supported by the AUKUS program.
David is Professor and Director of the Translational Plant Sciences Center in the United States. His research focuses on agricultural biosecurity, biosurveillance systems, atmospheric incursions of plant pathogens, and sensing technologies that strengthen food security and agricultural resilience.
During his placement, David will work alongside renowned SARDI researcher Dr Rohan Kimber, whose expertise in monitoring airborne fungal pathogens across agricultural landscapes closely aligns with David’s research interests.
As part of his visit, David will also present at the Waite Research Institute Seminar Series on Thursday, 24 September 2026.
Congratulations to Professor David Schmale on this outstanding Fulbright Australia Scholarship Experience.
