Congratulations to Dr Stephanie Watts-Fawkes, who is a co-investigator on a recently awarded ARC Linkage Project: Enhancing phosphorus use efficiency in macadamia for sustainable production.

In a project led by Southern Cross University, Professor Terry Rose (Southern Cross University),  Adjunct Professor Suzy Rogiers (Western Sydney University),  Dr Stephanie Watts-Fawkes (University of Adelaide), Associate Professor Tobias Kretzschmar (Southern Cross University), Dr Ramil Mauleo (Southern Cross University), and Mr Jolyon Burnett aim to exploit adaptive root and shoot traits for phosphorus efficiency found in Australian native plants to optimise phosphorus fertiliser management and set the platform for breeding macadamia root stocks/varieties that require less phosphorus fertiliser.
