The Adelaide University Agricultural Students’ Association (AUASA) is a non-for-profit organisation, governed by the Agricultural Science students at The University of Adelaide. With the gracious contributions from our respected industry partners, AUASA aims to increase the connection between agricultural-focused students and professionals in the agricultural industry, in line with our mission statement:
- To Provide Opportunity to our Student Community
- To Foster Industry Connections
- To Make University an Enjoyable Experience
The 2025 AUASA Mentoring Program is one such way that connects students and industry, and is offered to second and third-year students studying an agriculture-related degree, at the University of Adelaide. It provides an opportunity for students (Mentees) and Mentor’s to be matched who align in their interests, in the hope that a smooth transition for the Mentees away from study can ensue. We believe that due to the high-caliber of students selected, the mentor will also receive value from their mentee and through being involved in the program. We are fortunate and excited to have the program facilitated by Beck Burgess in 2025 and certainly look forward to working with her along this journey. We would also like to state that mentors of all levels of experience are welcome to apply to be involved. We would value a diversity of professionals and as such won’t discriminate against applications more recent to the industry.
The Mentoring Program will primarily involve two facilitated Workshop Sessions and a Graduation Dinner, where attendance is compulsory, with dates specified below. It is also expected that Mentors and Mentees are able to catch-up for a minimum of 2 hours of contact per month (online/in-person). A professional pairing panel will assess applications and pair Mentors with Mentees based on their compatibility. It must also be noted that mentor’s and mentees are not guaranteed a spot following the submission of their application.
