The Grains Research and Development Cooperation (GRDC) is seeking interest from undergraduate students to undertake a short-term paid placement over Summer 2022/23.

The successful applicant will assist GRDC Genetic Technologies investment managers to undertake analyses of potential genetics investment areas, including the development of business cases to support investment proposals that will optimise the impact of investment for Australian grain growers. Through these positions, summer students will gain insights into the technical and economic gap analysis approaches applied by GRDC to inform investment prioritisation and how investment opportunities can be best framed to address industry requirements. Tasks will include, but are not limited to data collection and analysis, desktop literature reviews and assisting with benefit cost analysis of potential GRDC investments. 

Applicant requirements:

  • Undergraduate students who are in or have recently completed their final or honours year studying plant molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics or similar
  • Permanent resident
