The following School of Agriculture, Food and Wine academic staff have been recognised with recent awards and promotions.
Congratulations to Associate Professor Matt Gilliham who has been promoted to full Professor with effect from 1 January 2017.
Congratulations to Dr Beth Loveys and Dr Karina Riggs, who have been awarded Highly Commended in the 2016 Stephen Cole the Elder Award for Excellence in the category of Teaching and Support for Learning.
The awards are made annually by the Office for Learning and Teaching Awards in recognition of outstanding contributions to student learning.
Dr Beth Loveys and Dr Karina Riggs have been recognised for leading cultural change in undergraduate teaching in agriculture, food and wine using innovative team-teaching approaches that engage students to become independent learners.
Since 2011 Dr Loveys and Dr Riggs have been working together to reinvigorate undergraduate teaching using innovative and novel teaching methods to improve student engagement, motivation and outcomes. Together they have become leaders in their school, inspiring colleagues and students alike.
