The Academic Consortium for the 21st Century (AC21) was established on June 24, 2002 as an international network comprised of educational, research and industrial organizations throughout the world.

Each year the AC21 has a round of grants (US$10k each) for projects involving multiple member universities.

These are now open – guidelines and application form are available at the link provided.

The University of Adelaide has been relatively successful with these in the past and the grants have been helpful in bringing current or potential collaborators together.

A good number of AC21 members are quite close to us, including:

  • Shanghai Jiao Tong University
  • NC State
  • University of Canterbury
  • University of Freiburg
  • University of Strasbourg
  • Stellenbosch University
  • Tongji University

Please note that applications need to be forwarded to AC21 via the University of Adelaide’s AC21 Communicator, Dr Glen Stafford.
