This presentation will look at the different ways bread wheat and barley transport Na+ through plants. It will also cover the progress made to understanding the underlying mechanisms for tissue tolerance, and whether accumulation of Na+ in certain tissues is a viable approach to enhance yield in a low saline dryland environment.
The Waite Campus Winery is releasing the new Adelaide University wines for the very first time! Head over this Friday to taste through the new vintage.

Every day, decisions are being made about which nature stories reach the public. A radio producer chooses which scientist gets airtime. A media broker decides which expert to pitch to journalists. A researcher becomes a content-creator and bypasses both, but has to build an audience from scratch. Each faces the same underlying question from a different angle: is important science getting heard?
Join us for an engaging presentation from Professor Zhong-Hua Chen. He will be presenting a talk titled: Genome Evolution and Functional Analysis of Abiotic Stress Response in Ferns
This student-led, industry-driven event brings together students and leading agricultural businesses for an evening of networking, innovation, and insight into the future of agriculture. This year's theme, Agricultural Technologies, explores the innovations shaping the industry and the opportunities ahead.
It is not too late to join the SBA seminar! Prof. José-Antonio Daròs from the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMCP) is here to talk about “Taking advantage of plant virus features to deliver CRISPR-Cas reaction components into plants”. Patrick Gong from the University of Western Australia will talk about “Creation of an expanded plant memory gene circuit toolkit”.
Join us for an exciting seminar by Professor Jenny Mortimer, Deputy Director of the Waite Research Institute and a leader in plant synthetic biology. Jenny will explore how understanding and engineering plant complex glycans and cell walls can support sustainable technologies, biomanufacturing and even future space exploration.
