SA History Festival: A Woman’s Place is in the Arboretum – Free Public Talk

May 10, 2023, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Discover the history of the Waite Arboretum through the stories of curators, Constance Eardley, Dr Jennifer Gardner and Dr Kate Delaporte.

Since the creation of the Waite Arboretum in 1928, three of the four scientists who have held the Curator’s position have been women.  Join Dr Kate Delaporte (current Curator), Dr Jennifer Gardner (former Curator) and Lynette Zeitz (historian and Manager, Urrbrae House) for a talk about the passions and perspectives that women have brought to the development of the living tree museum at the Waite campus of the University of Adelaide. Complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments served from 5pm for 5.30pm talk start.  This event is being presented by the Urrbrae House Historic Precinct as part of South Australia’s History Festival 2023.

Location: Drawing Room, Urrbrae House, Walter Young Avenue (enter off Fullarton Road), Urrbrae
