Everyone is welcome – sebinars are generally scheduled at 12pm on Thursdays, with some exceptions. Registration is required.

Abstract
Food companies are responding to consumer concerns about the climate change, environmental sustainability and animal welfare implications of increasing global meat consumption. To accommodate/take advantage of the increasing prevalence of vegetarian or flexitarian food options food companies are making a range of products from plant proteins that mimic the texture, taste and flavours of meat. Another market opportunity is the growth of the wellness and fitness sector with protein bars, workout supplements and shakes made from milk (whey) and /or plant protein ingredients. Many of these plant protein ingredients are made from soybean, but protein extracts from other legumes (eg peas, chickpeas) are also now appearing. South Australia grows a lot of legume crops – how are SARDI and the University of Adelaide responding to this exciting era of ingredient development? Come along and find out!
The seminar will be both face-to-face in Charles Hawker Conference Centre and as a webinar.
