Title: Seed dormancy and seed priming of annual pasture legumes species

Abstract: David Peck is the annual pasture breeder for South Australian Research and Development Institute. Annual pasture legumes seeds have short term physiological dormancy and long-term physical dormancy. David has developed a rapid method of overcoming physiological dormancy which allows for more generations per year when speed breeding. David breeds cultivars with different levels of physical dormancy to suit different pasture systems. David will also present some recent seed priming work which has potential to assist plants in droughts.
