Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior de Agronomia (School of Agriculture), University of Lisbon.
Sofia carries out scientific research in enology, with a focus on wine quality, quality control, wine safety and authenticity. She has expertise in mineral composition of grape and wine, with special regards to trace and ultra-trace elements, including heavy metals. Furthermore, she specializes in ICP-MS analytical methodologies for elemental and isotopic characterization.
After working at wineries in Portugal and France, she pursued a PhD at Instituto Superior de Agronomia, University of Lisbon. Her research focuses on developing and optimizing analytical methods for assessing wine quality and authenticity.
