Seminar SARDI Researcher Penny Roberts: Learnings from Churchill Fellowship to upskill research and development providers in Australia’s emerging pulse protein sector

Feb 12, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

With a background in agricultural research and specialising in pulse crops, Dr Penny Roberts undertook a 5 ½ week study tour in 2023 supported by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. The tour aimed at gathering information and connections to upskill research and development providers in Australia’s emerging pulse protein sector.

During her travels, Penny attended 47 meetings with processors, industry bodies, growers and researchers in Canada, the USA, the UK, and the Netherlands, and ended her tour at the 4th International Legume Conference in Granada, Spain. Having developed a greater understanding of the industry and opportunities for Australia, Dr Roberts will actively engage with government, industry, and researchers to disseminate and implement findings to benefit and grow the emerging pulse protein market in Australia.

Come hear more about her findings in this lecture at Waite Campus!
