Join us for a vibrant and engaging Connection through Culture event, designed to celebrate the diversity and community of our Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students across all Faculties. Hosted by the HDR Experience Team at the AGRS, this event offers a mix of cultural sharing, social connection, and light-hearted fun.
📍 Location: Maths Lawns
📅 Date: Tuesday 14th October
🕛 Time: 12:00–2:00 PM
🌍 International Potluck Lunch
Bring a dish that represents your cultural background and enjoy a shared meal with fellow HDR students. This is a great opportunity to connect with peers, exchange stories, and celebrate the international flavours that make our HDR community so unique. All dining essentials—plates, cutlery, napkins, and drinks—will be provided. Picnic blankets and a marquee will be set up for a relaxed, festive atmosphere.
*As this is a shared potluck, we encourage participants to label their dishes with ingredients and common allergens (e.g. nuts, dairy, eggs) and dietary requirements (e.g. halal, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free etc.). Please let us know if you have specific concerns.*
🏅 Team Challenge – Outdoor Team Games
After lunch, we’ll have some light-hearted team games. These low-pressure games are designed for fun and movement – no athletic experience required!
*Wellbeing-themes PRIZES awarded to the winning teams*
Whether you’re new to the HDR journey or a seasoned researcher, this is a fantastic chance to relax, have fun, and connect with others in our HDR community.
All HDR students welcome – bring your dish, your energy, and your team spirit!
If you have any questions, please contact Natalia Ciecierska-Holmes (HDR Liaison Officer, AGRS)
