Eastern brown snake

A few brown snake sightings have been reported during the past week on campus – a young brown in the in the northern garden bed area of Wine Innovation Central and another underneath the Pest Plant Glasshouse at the top of Hartley Grove. There are warning signs in place.

The warm weather means there is always the possibility of snake sightings around Campus or during field activities.

The DEWNR web site contains expert information about snakes in South Australia. The page is located at: http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/Plants_Animals/Living_with_wildlife/Snakes

There is also a fact sheet, and advice about what to do if someone encounters a snake to minimise the safety risk.

Please be aware of where you are walking and report and snake sightings to security on 0439 682 382 or 8313 7200.
