Eastern brown snake

A young brown snake has been sighted in the vicinity of Breeding Field Operations shed (WT35/8D – the building between the Mulyungerie carpark and the Paratoo carpark). Service Delivery are keeping an eye on the snake and Snake Away have been called to attend.

The warm weather means there is always the possibility of snake sightings around Campus or during field activities.

The DEWNR web site contains expert information about snakes in South Australia. The page is located at: http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/Plants_Animals/Living_with_wildlife/Snakes

There is also a fact sheet, and advice about what to do if someone encounters a snake to minimise the safety risk.

If a snake is sighted on campus which causes safety concerns, please contact Campus Services – 8313 7217, who will investigate whether it can be removed.

After work hours, please contact Campus Security – 8313 7200.
