Eastern brown snake

A few brown snake sightings have been reported during the past week on campus – including one found in a greenhouse of the Plant Research Centre, which was captured and removed by snake catchers.

The warm weather means there is always the possibility of snake sightings around Campus or during field activities.

The DEWNR web site contains expert information about snakes in South Australia. The page is located at: http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/Plants_Animals/Living_with_wildlife/Snakes

There is also a fact sheet, and advice about what to do if someone encounters a snake to minimise the safety risk.

Please be aware of where you are walking, take care around greenhouse areas and report and snake sightings to security on 0439 682 382 or 8313 7200.
