The CAPEX project to repair the external structural movement joints in the plaza area of the Plant Research Centre will commence next Monday April 8th.
The main areas to be repaired will be the west wing external movement joints of the main administration building i.e. University of Adelaide side and the main movement joint running north to south between greenhouse 4-5 to greenhouses 22-23.
There will be noise from concrete cutting, grinding and drilling during the repairs.
The overall project will take approximately 8 weeks to complete depending on weather conditions i.e. heat, wind and rain.
For the safety of staff, contractors and visitors during the construction phase please note the following:
- All areas that will be cordoned off will be deemed a construction site and any unauthorised entry will be reported by the builder as per any normal construction site legislative requirements.
- The allocated construction site area will move across the outside plaza as the repairs are completed. The work areas will be bunted off with safety mesh fencing, bollards and safety flagging.
- There will be some restriction to foot traffic during the repairs. An alternative route will be provided.
