The Fight Food Waste CRC is seeking applications for three positions to join the new team at the Waite campus.

Food waste is a global issue with losses valued at $1.6 trillion per annum. The recently funded Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre (FFW CRC) will be instrumental in addressing Australia’s $20 billion food waste situation.

Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre (FFW CRC) conducts innovative research to improve the sustainability and productivity of the Australian food industry. FFW CRC works with numerous participants to deliver outcomes which solve industry-identified problems. Their focus revolves around reducing food supply chain losses and food waste, donating more food to charity and discovering new sources of revenue for food producers, manufacturers and retailers. FFW CRC also includes an education and behavioural change program, which engages with industry and consumers and trains future industry professionals.

Three new Adelaide-based positions are available as five year fixed-term contracts with potential extension. Australian citizenship/permanent residency is essential.

Business Manager/Company Secretary
Reporting to the CEO, the Business Manager is responsible for leading and managing the corporate activities of Fight Food Waste Ltd, the company that manages the FFW CRC. Specifically, this position has responsibility for the financial, risk management, compliance and contractual affairs of the Company, liaises with all FFWCRC staff and those of participant organisations, and is an integral member of the senior management team.  The person will also act as Company Secretary, providing expert advice on corporate governance issues to the Chair, Board Directors and CEO and will ensure the statutory compliance of the company. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic full-time Business Manager to be based at their Adelaide headquarters.

Communications Manager
The Communications Manager will formulate, implement and evaluate a dynamic strategic communications plan for the FFW CRC, to ensure industry and consumer uptake of research outputs. This role will incorporate communications, PR and media as well as engagement with key stakeholders internally and externally. Working closely with key scientists, the CEO, CRC participant Honey and Fox Pty Ltd, and industry, the Communications Manager will assist to educate and transform the way that industry and consumers think about food waste via engaging and innovative communications. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic Communications Manager to be based at their Adelaide headquarters.

Office Manager/Executive Assistant
The Office Manager is responsible for organising office operations and procedures for the FFW CRC headquarters to ensure organisational effectiveness and efficiency. On a day to day basis the Office Manager manages the running of the office, including acting as the first point of contact, ordering supplies, arranging meetings and key events, and managing receipts and invoices. They also manage the diary, meeting and travel arrangements of the CEO, Business Manager and Board, and are responsible for the preparation of general and confidential correspondence. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic Office Manager/Executive Assistant to be based at their Adelaide headquarters.
