Senior Research Scientist – Mixed Farming Systems, Job Reference # 402585

The Senior Research Scientist, Mixed Farming Systems is responsible for leading research and development on mixed farming systems outcomes relevant to Upper Eyre Peninsula, which will contribute to SARDI’s role of leading and conducting innovative research for the benefit of South Australia. The role will be responsible for providing agronomy research direction and leadership at Minnipa.

The Senior Research Scientist, Mixed Farming Systems will be located at the Minnipa Agricultural Centre (MAC). The MAC is SARDI’s key Centre for low rainfall cereal, pasture and livestock research. The Centre is located at Minnipa on the Upper Eyre Peninsula, in a semi-arid environment with an annual rainfall of 325 mm. The Centre specialises in mixed farming systems research and involves on-farm agronomy research trials throughout the Eyre Peninsula and other parts of the state.

Senior Agricultural Officer (South East), Job Reference # 402715

The Senior Agricultural Officer is part of the Crop Sciences division within the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI). The Senior Agricultural Officer provides skilled technical assistance for the research projects undertaken by the Agronomy group.  Based at Struan, this Senior Agricultural Officer will be responsible for the operational management of technical processes involved with field crop evaluation and agronomy projects.  The incumbent has specific responsibility for the day-to-day management of designated field trials across the South East of SA. The incumbent will ensure specific project requirements for trial management such as sowing, spraying, harvesting, and data collection are met to ensure that the program achieves its aims in a timely and professional manner. The Senior Agricultural Officer is required to work closely with regional Agronomy staff to ensure outcomes of projects are met in a timely and professional manner.
