A free 3-day bioinformatics training workshop “Fall Into Bioinformatics” will be offered by the Bioinformatics Hub and the Bioinformatics Interest Group of SA (BIG-SA). Dates are 15-17 April.
The course is intended to be taken as a whole, however you are able to select individual days should you have some existing experience.
- Day 1 (15th April): Introduction to R & RStudio
- Day 2 (16th April): Introduction Bash & Scripting
- Day 3 (17th April): Introduction to NGS Data
No prior experience with bioinformatics is required or assumed, however the fundamentals of DNA and RNA amplification are assumed to about a 1st year undergraduate level.
These sessions are ideal for PhD, MPhil and Honours students who will be encountering sequencing data as part of their project. All other interested parties are also welcome. All days are eligible for CaRST status.
