DESCRIPTION:Dr Stephen Lee\n \nDate: Thursday 19 Feb 2026\, 10 am\, SARDI Plant Research Centre Auditorium \nTitle: SA Drought Hub – impacts to date and opportunities for collaboration \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Abstract: The South Australian Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub (SA Drought Hub) was established in June 2021 with a primary focus on building drought and climate resilience for farmers and regional communities. The Hub\, delivered in partnership Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA)\, is one of eight established across the nation through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund. The SA Drought Hub has a primary focus on broadacre and pastoral industries and is responsible for delivery of programs that integrate research\, development\, extension\, adoption and commercialisation aligned with drought and climate resilience priorities informed by extensive regional consultation. An overview of projects spanning near\, medium and longterm horizons will be presented. \nBio: Dr Stephen Lee brings extensive experience in agricultural research\, development and adoption to the role of Director of the SA Drought Hub. He undertook his PhD with the University of Adelaide and Cooperative Research Centre for Beef Genetic Technologies and has published research and led adoption programs spanning agricultural enterprise productivity and profitability\, genetic improvement\, greenhouse gas emissions reduction and improvement of product quality. Stephen was the first Manager of the South Australian Sheep and Beef Industry Blueprints where he worked extensively with a value chain wide working group on the development and successful implementation of the industry growth strategy.
