SARDI Seminar: Statistics in SARDI where to next?
Feb 15, 10:45 am - 12:00 pm
Statistics in SARDI where to next? – Helena Oakey (Biometry Hub)
This talk will introduce the staff of the Biometry Hub and the support available through the SAGI (Statistics for the Australian Grains Industry)/SARDI partnership. Helena will discuss the latest design and analysis of field and controlled experimental trials (with guest speakers from SARDI) and how it allows us to account for environmental variation so the estimates of treatment or variety effects are more accurate.
Helena Oakey has joined SAGI as a group leader after six years working at the James Hutton Institute/University of Dundee in Scotland. She has expertise in the design and analysis of agronomic trials. Her research interests include the development and improvement of statistical genetic methodology, including genomic selection and association mapping.
We would also like to draw your attention to a number of training courses that will be offered through the biometry hub (free to those who are on a GRDC project, or small fee if not):
- Introduction to R: 23rd Feb
- Introduction to Experimental Design: 6th March
- Analysis of designed experiments: 28th Feb – 1st March (2 day course)
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info about the courses.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
