Invitation to the Biometry Hub launch of their new website!
Sep 19, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
The Biometry Hub invites you to the launch of their new website with its fresh new look. While enjoying the afternoon tea that will be served, you will also have an opportunity to meet and learn more about our people and the vibrant data science culture they have been instrumental in creating.
The new website showcases the many activities the group is involved in across the university, regionally, nationally and internationally. These activities, while dominated by a multi-faceted multi-million dollar Statistics for the Australian Grains Industry project in the Southern region (SAGI-STH), reflect our commitment to improving the quality of research investigation we deliver with our collaborators.
We do this through tailored training courses for agriculture industries and undergraduate teaching, our undergraduate internship and research internship placements in the Hub, via our visitor and mentorship initiatives, and also postgraduate research training in Biometry. Our collaborations cover a wide spectrum of statistical research methods, statistical genetics, high performance and cloud computing, machine learning and computer vision, bioinformatics and design and analysis of experiments in plant and animal breeding, life sciences and agriculture, food and wine industries.
We look forward to sharing this important occasion with you and engaging in interesting discussions and conversations with you. Our team will be available until 4:30pm.
