Edible Insects – a Tasting Australia event – POSTPONED

Join us for ‘Edible Insects’ in Adelaide 

Millions of people from around the world have relied on insects as an essential source of nourishment for thousands of years.

Insects are high in protein, easy to cultivate, have a low carbon footprint, and could be instrumental in alleviating world hunger and climate change.

As part of Tasting Australia 2020, join the Academy of Science to explore edible insects from scientific and culinary perspectives.

Professor Kerry Wilkinson from the University of Adelaide will join local producers of edible insects to explore how and why insects are increasingly on the menu. From native green ant gin to cricket pasta, appetites for this alternative protein source are growing.

Food for Thought: Edible Insects will begin with drinks and canapés before the workshop gets underway. Tastings will be offered throughout—come with an open mind and discover something new.

Venue:  The National Wine Centre, Adelaide
Cost: $25pp + booking fee

Tickets include refreshments at 5.30pm before the talk at 6pm
