WIC Seminar – Recent development in the Chinese Wine industry with Ms Jing Zhang

Ms ZHANG Jing – The University of Adelaide’s 2017 Walter, Carew & Richard Reynell Visiting Winemaker.

Jing is co-owner of Chateau Helan Qingxue, in Ningxia, China. Although a very new area, Ningxia is widely regarded as the source of China’s best red wines. Jing completed her studies in the Shanxi province and has spent time in the Rhone Valley, South Africa and in Australia. Her Jia Bei Lan Cabernet dry red 2009 won the International Trophy for best Bordeaux varietal over £10 ($A15) at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2011. Jing is nearing the end of her 4-week stay in Adelaide to work with the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate winemaking students. Jing will present an overview of the recent developments in Chinese wine industry and market.

This seminar will be held in the University of Adelaide Level 4 Focus Rooms based in the Wine Innovation Central Building.
