Introduction to Intellectual Property
Mar 22, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An Introduction to Intellectual Property session will be held at the Waite on Wednesday 22 March at 3pm in the Plant Research Centre meeting rooms 1 & 2 (Level 1). This session is aimed at HDR students and researchers who may be starting on a research project but have not had previous exposure to IP issues. The session is to highlight many of the key issues that researchers should consider if they are working on projects that may have potential commercial value, and will cover the following topics:
- What is IP?
- Protecting IP
- Patent Process
- Inventors vs Owners
- Licensing overview
This one-hour session will be run by Patent Attorney, Gerard La Fontaine from UA’s Adelaide Enterprise team, and is open to all Waite-based researchers. If there is sufficient interest, a second session can be scheduled, and further sessions on specific topics around IP and commercialisation are planned in due course.
To reserve your place, please RSVP to Carolyn Mitchell at Carolyn.firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 17 March.
